    Imeon 3.6 Hybrid Inverter

no problem, one can set the bulk value as required by the battery manufacturer. it is not like the Axpert that has limitations. I have it at 57.5v at 20a if i remember correctly

    Imeon 3.6 Hybrid Inverter

The Imeon has one flaw. the fan failure issue, besides that it is a workhorse. i have 87 installed of which 8 to date had fan failures in the last 4 years. it was a mission in the past, the unit had to go to the distributors for fan exchange, now days Imeon send me the fans and i am allowed to do the maintenance on them.... My biggest moan was the service of the product which seems to be resolved. I still install 1 or 2 a year of them but at the coast i now install them in a cabinet, that solves the fan failure... I must add, all installs that i did with them that were more than 5km's from the sea, I have not had issues with. seems like sea air/ condensation causes the fan issues my price is R15k for the unit.

    Imeon 3.6 Hybrid Inverter

Hi, No the unit will give you a max of 6kw continuous as long as there is Sun, Eskom and battery. it blends it's supply pretty well, i.e. pv first to a max of 3kw, then it will look for Eskom and draw whatever balance up to 6kw from the utility or it will in the event of an outage draw max 3kw from pv and 1kw from battery. PV max is 3kw, battery is 1kw and Utility is 2kw hope it helps

    Imeon 3.6 Hybrid Inverter

Hi Valken, yes it is. i had just over the weekend installed it in my trailer, but if there is a willing buyer, then i am the willing seller...
  7. the GTI 1st on its own disconnect and then the hybrid. on outage the gti will then disconnect and the hybrid will take over the load. this is how i had mine before changing besides the fact that i had pv on bith the gti and hybrid and both returning to grid without issue....
  8. good luck with it. The problem will lie with the feed from the GTI to the mecer (Axpert?) which i don't believe can take a reverse feed hence my comment on frequency shifting like the Victron, SMA etc do.
  9. only if the GTI and the hybrid can do frequency shifting. i changed from my hybrid Goodwe for this reason and have my GTI connected to my load outputs of my bi directionals, so it stays on but does not cook batteries.... and thereby creating a decentralized grid
  10. Then it will not be an issue, i can reconfigure your inverter. There would be a site call out fee....thats it. you can drop me an email or pm to arrange.
  11. You do not require the card for changing settings. Only an installer can do this. where are you located? Settings i can change for you dependant on your location
  12. Hi Angela, all the card is, is an interface to your network router and will allow you to connect to the Imeon portal to view your stats re production, load, battery status etc..... You will need a network point near your Imeon Inverter as it is a wired connecteion I have only ever had two clients install them from around 87 Imeon installs. your unit is around 2.5 years old? no issues to date?
  13. I can help if i can find the card. Nobody has stock of them in S.A. so would have to be imported from Imeon France. I have had my fair share of issue with them, but they now allow me to do certain repairs to them as well. It is a RS485 and RJ45 card, the cost is approx R2500 to get. i do not know the import / shipping costs. let me have a serial number for the unit....
  14. i have 57 of them available to me at R2199 excl VAT each if anybody is interested. Brand new ex Cape Town

    Eskom strike tomorrow

He has not at his new build in Sea Point....my mate did all the electrical work
  17. Greetings, as stated above by plonkster, you will have to have your system decommissioned firstly and then do the application. I am just to far away to do it, i am sorry..It is 4 hours round trip just traveling, this i know as i went to help an old customer last week add 6 panels which took an hour...... You can download the needed docs from COCT website, or just ask if Werner would do all on your behalf... sorry once again.
  18. hey guys, thought i should share my new build with you all. i will add photo's as we go along. To start with i have started with a 320m2 "green" home. We are now only on slab height but in two - three weeks we should be roof height. the cavities in the walls are getting polystyrene sheeting and eco insulation in the roofing. I have had the roof trusses manufactured at 30 degrees and placed the house with the longest roof line of 24m facing North for my panels. For solar power i have decided to go with a grid tied microcare 3kw inverter accompanied by their grid tied limiter and 11 x 285w panels in a series array, that should give me 495VOC and the limit on the inverter is 500V. in the event of a power failure i am going to put in a 3kw bi directional microcare inverter with 8 x batteries for critical loads. For our water heating and cooking i will be installing a Atlas 28l/p/m turbofan gas geyser running off 2 x 48kg bottles that will supply the geyser and gas stove. Fridge and freezer are the new Bosch Solar line of A++ rated units.....they say no more than 100kw per year draw for both. Alll the lighting will be 4w LED running from "the critical "circuit. I am following the wind patterns here and so far every day / night there seems to be a wonderful amount coming in off the sea, so as alternative source, i intend using a 1 or 1.5kw wind turbine....but that i will attempt once the house is totally up and running. okay pics to follow as we go along..... PS .... i am always open to suggestions offers of help and guidance. cheers mike
  19. So i have upgraded my system now for the last time ....( i think ) 2 x SMA Sunny Islands 5kw each linked giving me 10kw Bi Directional power and on the load side connected a SMA Mini Central 11kw GTI, coupled with 3 strings of 12 x 305w PV panels and onto my existing 520ah battery bank....The GTI was giving me 85kwh per day in Jan and today it's giving 46kwh.......that's it done and dusted!

    Axpert "back to grid" behaviour

100% correct, just isolate the batteries, and AC input and we can remove it. It will continue to work as a single unit

    Axpert "back to grid" behaviour

@ebrsa, best you check that 8kw breaker.....

    Axpert 5Kw Switching On Delay

A stupid question .....can you not revert back to the last "working" version as to test if the fault is hardware or software based?
  23. New Tax/Levy for Licensed Electricity Generators The new levy has effectively been signed by the minister and has been back-dated to the 1st April 2018. Not having any other pertinent information contained in volume nr 635 of the 8th May 2018 Gazette nr. 41615 simply contains the text as indicated in the image below. New Levy for registered electricity generators The Term "electricity generators" referred to in the document would seem to suggest large generators that have generation licenses and would probably include the likes of all the REIPPP plants as well as any subsequent large solar PV rooftop or ground-mount plants that are registered with NERSA as generators. It may also impact municipalities generating their own power. Downstream this may have an impact on end-users, as well as affecting the financial feasibility and pay-back or ROI of large generation facilities. All generators less than 1MW does not seem to be affected by this notice.
  24. This is a reply from Ted Blom re Nersa's attempt at robbing solar generators : After receiving comments from over 24 000 highly concerned people, we sent objections to Nersa detailing reasons why licencing generators and solar panels is not an acceptable proposal. Well, Nersa announced they will be withdrawing the draft rules. BUT - as governance laws bind Nersa, they cannot withdraw before the public comment period ends on 31 May. Once done, they will re-draft to align with a government gazetted Licensing Exemption and Registration Notice and then re-open the new rules for public comment.
  25. Silver, you heard right, apparently it is being withdrawn due to the public outcry. There is a process they have to follow to withdraw, but they also state that it will most likely return in another way / time frame.
