Photo Information for Solar Pagoda #2.jpeg

Recommended Comments

I am busy adding 9Kwh of direct inverter solar to my office. The pagoda is tilted towards the east and north so as to maximise sun from early in the day, but enjoys full sun until 16h00. I renewed the SWA 6mm sq cable to the pool pump so I will mount the inverter/s above  the pool pump and just backfeed into the pool DB, and thereby into the main DB.

Simple as can be.

It's an office so low to no power use after 16h00 and before 07h00.

The gumpoles and 150x38s are CCA treated so they'll last as long as the 2x1m form factor Canadian Solar panels that will go on there next month.

Just put some diagonal poles across some of the uprights, then it will be solid. As it is some heavy rain and muddy soil and a strong wind will push it sideways like a parallelogram. With triangular elements it won't budge.

Yeah, you'll note that I'm also missing one 4m plank on the extreme rhs. I only use CCA timber and I ran out. More is already waiting for me at my builders merchant, then I'll do all the bracing. I found out all about 'trapezium-ing' about 20 years ago... don't ask me how.
