  1. Indeed. 2nd 5kW battery due for commissioning on the 25th of this month. Base laid is roughly 500W. Battery is fully charged by 10am from 30% DOD, the past couple of sunny weeks. Correct, having two separate facing sets of panels on the same string is not ideal, but still better than nothing.
  2. Very. The north facing is already populated with 6x 645W JA's. The East and West facing sides is what I wish to utilise now. The East and West facing string connected to 1 MPPT. Catch the morning and evening sun for maximum production. Did the whole simulation with 40Voc panels (2 strings of 2x 645W JAs), but it will only start generating enough Voc from 11am to 2pm in optimal conditions during summer, so the cost vs. benefit does not makes sense. Therefore, 2x 80Voc panels per string will allow the MPPT to start from 8am already, in optimal conditions during summer. This is all in preparation for a 2nd Greenrich UP5000 LiFePO. Yes, probably an overkill, but after 18months of monitoring, initially to just be blackout free, this setup will allow me to move my heat exchanger heatpump to the inverter and realise 55% saving from ESKOM as well.
  3. Amazing. Thank you. I kept searching for 800W panels, thinking the bigger they are the more Voc they deliver.
  4. As the title states, I am in the market for 80Voc solar panels. 2, but preferably 4. I have limited roof space and my 5kW Sunsynk MPPT requires 150Voc minimum to "start". I have Googled for hours, but AliExpress is all I end up at and have to order a pallet as minimum. Thank you is advance.
  5. Had the same issue. The monitoring software worked fine via the USB connection. Gave up on it a month later it failed/burnt something. Replaced it with this, when it was on special and R1000 cheaper. https://www.makro.co.za/hardware-auto/electrical/inverters-solar-panels/inverters/rentech-axpert-vm-3000-24v-hybrid-inverter-2400w-/p/7f85d508-7297-450a-a359-293767a6657d?gclid=CjwKCAjw0a-SBhBkEiwApljU0oQUEPDALqtmo_IdyayHXzUP4Jv0tImVN1hjo_eYPB3ctpbVj3Q1ZRoCIG0QAvD_BwE
  6. Thank you, but actually the "reflashtool" you refer too. The Windows application. Also, I notice most firmware updates is the U1 only. U2 not so much or not at all?
  7. Did you managed to setup your Axpert @Noobie? If you did, please share yours with me?
  8. Hi Denarius, Thank you for your insightful posts. And the firmware. I am assisting my father with his Axpert MKS II that are on v.14 only. I bought the cables (RJ45 to serial and serial to USB), but I do not have the software you used to flash the Axpert. I have tried Mustek direct, but have gotten zero response. Do you know where I can download the software or could you post a link to download it, please?
  9. I am hoping you can recommend a person or company that could do paid-for service at home for an Axpert MKS II Inverter. It appears it needs the latest firmware, perhaps a reconfiguration. It's switching to ESKOM at night, regardless of the batteries having a 80%+ charge. Also, the part to allow statistics to be recorded via wireless. The original installer relocated to Gauteng and we I have been unable to identify an installer/service company that is willing or able to assist with this inverter. Thank you in advance.
  10. Admin, I do not want to appear as to whine, but is there any progress on the TapaTalk accessibility yet? I (still) these errors.
  11. Brilliant app. Had it been around five years earlier, I could've saved myself 4months worth of stress-research. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=appinventor.ai_grecotoledo.SOLARPE_english Sent from my BlackBerry — the most secure mobile device
  12. I second Johandup's request to enable Tapatalk. I too, am subscribed to 9+ forums, one of which is MyBroadband, that I trust would be on t he forefront of data privacy and security and would not support Tapatalk if it was "so" unsecure?
