  1. What exactly are you unclear about? There is no 90A passthrough on the Sunsynk. It's 50A on the 8kw and 35A on the 5kw. The 90A was a typo that has been recently corrected for the SA market. 90A was printed and correct for the 110V market. I don't think you quite understand how this inverter works. Maybe the attached pic can explain.
  2. Hi Louis. This is not correct. The 8kw and 5kw limitation is purely a DC to AC limitation. The passthrough function is AC to AC so on the essential side, when the grid is available, the 5kw can peak at 8kw and the 8kw can peak at 12kw. Definitely will not overload as the balance is drawn from the grid.
  3. Hey. Sure. Send me your serial number
  4. Remember the 8000w rating on the Sunsynk is a DC to AC limitation. DC being panels, batteries or a combination of both. The DC to DC converter (panels to batteries) has a limitation of 185A at 50V. So if the panels produced 9000w at 450V, that's 20A. What the DC to DC converter will do is reduce the voltage to 50V and increase the current to 180A to give you 9000w which is still below the 185A limitation on the DC to DC converter. The Sunsynk also has a TRU (Transformer Rectifier Unit) which gives the inverter the ability to take AC power (Grid) and rectify that into DC power to charge the battery bank at a max of 185A at approx 50V. Even if I set the charge and discharge current to 185A, the inverter will only take a max of 8000w as this is it's DC to AC limitation. Note, battery C rating also has its own limitation. Also remember that the voltage of 53.47V isn't a constant as when the capacity of the battery reduces during discharging, the voltage will reduce which will increase the current. Regards
  5. 16 x 540w panels. I'm not sure I understand your question, what is ok for an 8kw inverter?
  6. The fuses are 160A. I limit the charge and discharge on the inverter to 155A
  7. I have just issued a client with a brand new Hubble due to a cell failure. So Hubble will resolve the issue, whatever that may be.
  8. Where did you purchase the AM2 from
  9. Hi guys. What cable do I need to do the upgrade?
  10. Howsit. You need to tick use timer for the battery to work.
  11. The Powerforum Store will give you objective advice on all battery brands. Pylontech, Freedom Won, Hubble, BSLB, Dyness etc.
  12. Hi Bob. It's possible that your essential load was more than 1700w and at that instant the grid shut down. It's an issue with these 0.5C batteries. Your installer should have briefed you on the limitations of the system. Regards
  13. Thanks Yellow. Always appreciate your kind words.
  14. Battery backup solution using a Sunsynk 5kw paired with a BSLB 5.1kwh.
  15. Thank you. No we didn't install a RIOT.
  16. Soon they will convince everyone to sleep with PBEs due to the thermal runaway and gassing caused by the NMC battery in their cell phones. Flat earth society...
  17. Do you think that cell phones and laptops use LFP or NMC cells?
  18. I'll make sure to include a fire extinguisher with each install going forward. Thanks for the heads up.
  19. Hi Andre. Nice looking install. Maybe get some direction from Freedom Won as their warranty is void if it's not installed by an authorised installer or approved and commissioned by Freedom Won The warranty is only valid and applicable if the Lite was installed by an authorized Freedom Lite installer or approved and commissioned by Freedom Won. Should the Lite need to be relocated this must also be done by an authorized installer. The warranty is also only valid if the Lite and all associated charges such as delivery costs is fully paid for by the installer or if necessary directly by the owner within 60 days of the final amount becoming due Guarantee Document - Freedom Lite updated March 2020.pdf
  20. Thanks Timcam. The interlink cable is hidden in the bottom trunking. Then positive from battery 1 and negative from battery 2 into the fuse box. As far as I know, it's still in beta. As soon as it's released, Sunsynk will put out a notice.
