  1. As the topic says… unit is just over a year old - Mar 2021 Standard Victron Warranty applies. Reason for selling: purchasing a Quattro 10k Wanting R24k - reasonable offers considered https://www.victronenergy.com/inverters-chargers/multiplus-ii
  2. @Erastus Wow!!! Congrats, wonderful project - your "blow by blow" is awesome, keep it coming... Just so happens that I have been Youtube'ing for the past few months on this very topic but for me, it is a pipe dream - day job get's in the way of me ever pulling a project like this this off. Based in Durban interior and hope to be completely off grid in the not too distant future. Winter is our best time for Solar but Spring and Summer is challenging in terms of Solar. We can go an entire week with 100% cloud but thankfully we mostly have wind during these times so this is just what i'm looking to add to our setup. Look forward seeing the final product once you have it all wrapped up...
  3. Hi @vulgrim, yes still available, situated in Durban area
  4. Selling a DALY 200A 48v 15s/16s Smart BMS - CAN/485 + Bluetooth - as per link below Purchased in March 21 as a backup - never used. Asking R2800 https://lithiumbatteriessa.co.za/collections/bms/products/lbsa-200a-15s-16s-48v-lifepo4-smart-bms-with-display-and-bluetooth-functionality

  6. Hi All, Weather intervention blew Ethernet Port on my CCGX. Have installed new one, firmware updated, all configs done. Linked new CCGX in VRM under my account and went thru the sequence of replacing CCGX on my existing installation, rebooted CCGX etc - doesn’t seem to have worked New install hasn’t been linked to my old installation and all updates are only showing on the new install, no historical data. The VRM id on my old install looks “odd” in that it has additional explanatory text…? “fxxxxxxxxxxxx - USEDASREPLACEMENT” Anyone have any insights Thanks
  7. @RiaanP - eish, sorry for the delay in responding, life is a little hectic Sold
  8. Hi @87 Dream, they are still available - if you follow the link to LBSA website, they state that they are rated 120A discharge, 320A Peak
  9. I am planning to go off-grid but not there just yet, still a work in progress. There are a few guys on the forum that have gone the DIY route, buying cells and related components to build your own. You can also buy ready built units. Bain and his team at Lithium Batteries SA (LBSA) provide a quality product/service - link at the bottom Got my first 48v 120ah (16s) setup in August last year and acquired an additional set each month thereafter - 4 banks, 24kWh. Since I was getting 1 bank/month, initially I ran them as separate banks, each with it's own BMS. While this works, this setup is not ideal as charge/discharge rates differ from bank to bank. I have since acquired a 250a Smart BMS and combined all cells into 1 large battery - 16s4p. BMS has a phone App and one can monitor battery/cells - much better I have a Victron Quattro and at the moment, the BMS is not connected to the Inverter, so I have my setup charging at reduced voltages to avoid cell voltage runaway - equates to between 90%-95% of battery capacity. Hope to soon try out a serial battery driver for Victron created by @Louisvdw Here's a thread on DIY build using BMS with no comms Here's another thread on DIY battery - if I recall, Justin has a Sunsynk inverter and finally, here's the link to LBSA - https://lithiumbatteriessa.co.za/ Good luck, have fun
  10. Nothing wrong with your thinking though keep in mind, broadly accepted DOD for Gel/Agm battery if 50%
  11. Always an interesting discussion with many different perspectives. I haven't done a detailed analysis but I have a DIY LifePO4 battery (6kWh @ R19300) and using the 3000 cycles/80% figure, I am sitting at R1.34/kWh which beats Eskom by a bit. Battery cost/kWh is pretty much fixed whereas Eskom cost/kWh is a moving target and will increase over time, 15.6% in April for starters. If I treat my batteries with kid gloves, I could achieve more than 3000 cycles which will be a bonus
  12. Morning, looking into heat pumps - which one did you install and if you don't mind, what did you pay for it... thanks
  13. Hi Louis, I should have my re-configured battery with a 250A DALY Smart BMS running in the next few days Setup: Quattro 48/10000, Color Control GX, SmartSolar MPPT, 24KWh DIY LifePo 16s4p I'd been keen to try out your driver but I will most probably need some help Thanks
