  1. I have a 200Ah battery where the spot welds on the cells(no studs) has come loose. Does anybody know who will have a decent spot welder to reconnect them or any suggestions on how to fix the welding?
  2. Might be a good idea to get accurate cycle, soh for US3000B's and C's...Then people will know exactly what they are getting. E.g B's about 600 cycles.
  3. Hi, you need a cable for US3000A/B and a different cable for US3000C. Are you using the correct cable? Can you see all the cells when you connect, voltages etc? Make sure you have the correct firmware for A/B and C. There are various versions for type C depending on motherboard version.
  4. It's the BMS that's the issue, some only speak specific protocols which the inverter may not speak. The market has certainly changed over the last 3 years, even the last 12 months. Battery prices have dropped substantially, there are many brands and choices. Even the inverter market has grow, many new entrants, options. Frankly, in 5 yrs time the equipment one buys today will be outdated and you will battle to find batteries, inverters and panels that are compatible with it. High voltage, inverters/ batteries will become the norm.....Watch this space.
  5. I'm interested to understand the purchasing decisions of solar customers.Seriously, I import lipo4 batteries. What was the motivation for buying these batteries? Were they inexpensive, good reviews, well known? There are many other brands that speak natively to sunsync, out-the-box. Was your Installer a major influence, did you get a choice of battery?
  6. Can you please provide panel specs
  7. Have you looked at other inverters or are you already decided on the Sunsync?
  8. Every year for 3 years in a row, we had our PC equipment, printers, routers "burnt" by lightning...Everything connected to the telephone lines was blown. It turns out our neighbour had replaced the old Telkom wooden pole with a magnificent steel one, nicely painted silver and shining. Since I've disconnected the telephone lines no more problems...
  9. Why the ATS? The inverter will automatically supply the essential loads when the grid goes down, no ATS required. When the grid is up, inverter (from battery and/or panels, and /or grid) will supply both essential and non-essential loads (inverter setting will allow you to feed non-essential loads from PV as well) Do you mean a change-over switch, like in you pull the lever physically for maint?
  10. Are Deye and Sunsync not both from the same factory ? Are the failure rates similar and just the repair services differ, or are Sunsynk inverters, with different software, more prone to failure? Would be interesting to see the stats..
  11. I swapped out a lightning damaged Goowe for a working, used one a few weeks ago. I had to get support to change the "owner"/ installer of the used one so the new owner could access it. 1 phone call and it was done! I was rather surprised. They're reliable inverters, mine is 5 this year, no issues, never skipped a beat. I'm hoping another 5 yrs to go.
  12. I also have a goodwe. I don't remember if the app has up5000 in its drop down battery list. Set the battery to 4x us2000C (2400w x 4), that will give you the same capacity as 2x up5000 (4800×2), the inverter can only pull 100A max from the battery , about 4600W.
  13. I don't have access to this setting. This may depend on firmware version I tried this and indeed it worked for a few minutes, pumping 3000W int the battery. Then the grid frequency dropped to zero, and the inverter then went into backup mode/ off-grid (displayed in status), drawing from the grid and continued to power loads and power was drawn from the batteries even going below the "Soc 50% on grid" value thinking it was in backup mode.Weird! It then did a status check and 10 mins later picked it the grid voltage and frequency..
  14. "Bypass is when there is grid and the inverter is not using battery or PV. This means the inverter is not doing any work but is merely taking the grid and sending it to the inverter load output." Does this mean the bypass load can exceed the rated grid down (ups,) load or is it still limited to that ups side rating?
  15. Is one of tha ABB jobs required for each sub db as well or just 1 on the main incoming line? So the ABB is good for AC side, what must be used for DC side?
  16. Now the question is what brands are good quality SPDs? Suggestions?
  17. I looked at the Victron Orion and already have a victton MPPT. I also looked at the NL setup in a box..looks good, if one adds fuses, cables etc to the victron the cost may be similar to the NL 40A dcdc/solar setup. Does anybody know of NL DCDC charger issues, it comes with wiring, fuses etc..looks very neat, plug in and go approach...
  18. I was contemplating getting the 40A version...Now they've closed shop!
  19. I have the same inverter, haven't had an update in years so I can't understand why you are getting frequent updates. Are you requesting these updates? What version are you on now?
  20. How many panels per A-frame? I read the design specs for my flat roof, they specifically mention a weight limit per SQM. Can you imagine the fuss the insurance company would make if they did their sums and found out the roof structure was not designed to take the additional ballast + panel weight.
  21. Question; how does the slave know its a slave? I'd switch the master and slave around and see what happens....Just for interests sake..
  22. Question; how does the slave know its a slave? I'd switch the master and slave around and see what happens....Just for interests sake..
  23. Just connect to the DC breaker/disconnect switch but use the correct rated fuse. See below dgm, in effect its the same as you proposed...You'r just doing it after 3 batteries in each stack.
