  1. You sound knowledgeable on the topic. Could you please share what cables are needed for a regular US3000?
  2. It has been a few months since I last tried to connect, but I was never successful then. Not sure if it was the cables I have or perhaps a bad or old version of BatteryView. Where can I download the latest official version? Is there an alternative software that I could try to help determine if my cables are the problem. Do you plug into the console port or into the RS485 port? I have these two cables that I bought from Mercadolibre: Cable 1: Cable 2:
  3. Where can I get one of these? Can anyone else confirm if it actually works with batteryview and Pylontech US3000
  4. Is there a link to a youtube video showing how this re-wiring of the RJ11/10 is done? It would be good to show the techie what we want done. They may not understand just from that Youda diagram. Wouldn't you also need to modify the USB-maleRS232? If you were to modify only the femaleRS232-RJ11 then wouldn't that cause a mismatch in the wiring between the male and female RS232s? There are other "off the shelf" cables available online. Not sure what the difference is. I can see spending big money for a cable only to get it after waiting one month for shipping, and it's not right. I also noticed there are batteries referred to as US3000 a,b, etc. Mine is just US3000. Not sure if those are different products for different regions or what. https://www.hdcabling.co.za/product/pylontech-console-cable-for-battery-monitoring-us2000-us3000a-b-us3000c-up2500-up5000/ https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/274498301389
  5. Thanks. I came across that link in my search. That is an RJ10. Pylontech said I would need an RJ11 for the US3000. Do you think I could take that schematic you linked to in your first post to an electrician or computer repair shop and have them modify a cable? What would I tell them exactly? Would I just need the RJ11 cable modified, or would I need both cables modified? It's a little frustrating as n Pylontech sent me a document simply showing I would need a USB - male rs232; female rs232 - RJ11. They did not mention that the cables wouldn't work off the shelf, and would need to be modified. This is crazy. Why wouldn't they just sell the cable or include it with the batteries? I've been at this now for two months with Pylontech and my distributor. The distributor just said to send "the battery in." But I can't properly diagnose which battery to send without these cables first.
  6. Is there a Pylontech manual for US3000 in plain English. The technical jargon is one thing, but then combine that with Chinglish and I just have to throw in the towel and say, "you've got to be kidding!" What a joke. How do they expect anyone to take them seriously? I'm amazed at their success considering.
  7. I contacted a supplier in Peru, and they told me to just go ahead and buy the Usb - male rs232 and the Female rs232 - RJ11 cables from a computer supply store. Pylontech told me the same. Well sure enough they don't seem to work. I'm not nerdy enough to really dissect the cables and see why. Maybe the cables are OK and there's some other problem. I know baud rate for the US3000 is supposed to be 1200. Also I have the right COM port selected so it's not that. The only other options: The check box, "united" - I assume this is asking if the battery module units are connected in parallel. Then it asks for the number of "units". I assume they're referring to how many battery modules you have connected. Are there any cables that are verified to work that are sold as official products? I can't believe how useless after-sales support has been in my situation. One other thing is that the manual doesn't state how to acheive a baud rate of 1200 on the unit via the ADD switches...what gives?!
  8. Is there a reason here everyone is recommending different software. I contacted Pylontech a couple months ago when I noticed my batteries wouldn't charge above 88% SOC, and they sent me some software called BatteryView. Why isn't anyone in this discussion using that program? Anyway, just thought I'd chime in, because I've been dealing with this battery problem now for two months, and one of the batteries has finally triggered an "internal failure" alarm. These batteries are only 1 year old. They are the US3000 batteries. The rest of the stack seems out of balance too, but that's a different topic for a different thread. My present concern is that I can't get the BatteryView software to connect. When I click "connect" it says it's connecting for a minute or so, and then gives me a timeout prompt. Well I got the only RS232-RJ11 cable available on the internet in this country, so needless to say, I won't be trying this with a different cable. I don't understand why Pylontech doesn't offer their own diagnostic cables for sale, so we don't have to guess what the problem is. I just hope that the distributor is worth their salt and either gives me some replacement batteries or preferably just gives me my money back. These batteries, with their glitches after only one year, are definitely not worth the 2000USD they cost in this country.
  9. I'm leaning towards 3 of the Pylontech US3000 in parallel and a ~4500w panel array. Probably in 3s4p or 2s6p. But I'm concerned with victron mppts. they say they're only good for three mc4 strings. Is that true?
  10. Hi, I thought I'd register as this forum came up a lot on my searches when looking for info about Pylontech and Narada batteries. Those are the only two LiFePo4 brands available here in Peru. The batteries are all 48v. So I thought I'd create an account. I'm trying to design a system around about 9-10kwh of daily use for a remote cabin in the high jungle. I've got Victron and Growatt for inverters/charge controllers. I'm not too keen on the prices of victron stuff as I'm on a pretty tight budget, so the Growatt is attractive. But, I want something that will work easily and not be a pain in the neck, and I don't want to have to modify anything for at least twenty years. I saw one verrrrrrry long post on here talking about Growatt with Pylontech. It sounds really complicated. Are the growatt units more compatible perhaps with the 48v 100ah Narada batteries? That would be the absolute cheapest option for me. It'd be great if that solution was optimal. Otherwise it sounds like the only surefire bet is to sell my first born and go with Pylontech + Narada. Any insights please?
