HeinTheTerrible
I recently acquired my first "blue product" but now I'm scratching my head. She doesn't turn on 4 x 12v 150aH batteries in a 24v config. Volt meter reads 24v at the positive and negative terminals and, the common reads 12v. Wired the meter in exactly the same way (except I only have 4 batteries).
___
It only turns on above 27V. Read the manual :-)
HeinTheTerrible
I did, batteries were at 27.5v when I posted. Edit: She lives! Nothing happened for nearly an hour.
Jaco De Jongh
Hein the turning on points are not exactly the same, recently installed 3 on my bank, and all three turn on at different voltages a couple of minutes apart, although the fluke reads the same voltage on all three of them. The actual balancing work will only happen at a voltage higher than the turn on voltage, so I don't think you should worry to much about it. EDIT: I meant. don't worry to much if for example it only switches on at 27.5Volt. I think if it switches on at 28 or 29Volts, that should be a reason for concern imo. Guest
HTT, IF the unit is a problem, is that it is still under warranty being Victron. Warranty is on the device, not the person who bought it. What I saw on them (balancers are not my interest) is that the panels obviously must be producing, so volts as said is above 27v. Also of interest is that it is off most of the time with a click and LED flash every now and then daytime.
