Posted December 14, 20213 yr Hi I have a problem that not the manufacturers or google seem to be able to solve and want to hear if anyone else has experienced the same On Friday evening we had a very big electrical storm that tripped my Goodwe ES4,6kw. This is the first time in 2.5 years that a storm tripped it. i struggled to get it restarted and had to waith for PV the next morning before i could get into the inverters app. We have no Eskom power only PV during the day the system works as per normal but as soon as the batteries need to kick in...nothing. the batteries are fully charged. i get an error that says it fails to discharge Goodwe updated the inverter firm ware still same problem. then spoke to the technicians who ditributes pylontech, they made me do a few changes on the inverter and still nothing. from the app and with the eye no alarms or anything has anybody else ever had this problem
December 14, 20213 yr following with interest, is it possible that the battery is in a self-protect mode?

December 15, 20213 yr Maybe your BMS has also been damaged by the lightning? How many batteries do you have? Try removing 1 at a time and then see if it makes a difference? Have you tried to remove the Pylontech battery from the inverter settings and replaced with self-define using appropriate parameters? Not sure if this will help but a quick "worth-a-try"...
