Kodak OG7.2 Off Grid Inverter with 2 x Pylontech US3000B batteries running off SMH software on a Raspberry Pi (CenturionSolar)

To start off this is what the displays look like on the SMH software

I have the communication cable connected between the Pi and the Inverter and when you buy the package from CenturionSolar you get a cable that connects between the Pi and the Pylontech batteries. Please make sure what Pylontech batteries you have when you order - The batteries will either be B or C variants older batteries may not have the B indicated on the battery, The new batteries are marked clearly with the C after the US number.

Current Hardware setup

1 x Kodak 7.2 Inverter Off Grid (Supplied by Grid Power - PV production - Batteries and Switch over 6.5 kW Generator for the bad load shedding days when the sun hides away)

2 x Pylontech US3000B batteries (With Fused Battery Protection)

8 x 325 Watt Solar Panels (With String Panels)

Here you can make some advanced adjustments to the Inverter and battery settings

Please note I have just shared my setup and equipment details to assist anyone else out there that has a similar system in place. I would love to hear from anyone out there who may have better settings or adjustments to make to make my system work more efficiently

Due to my house still being connected to the grid via a old mechanical meter I am able to use my old Danfoss Grid Tie inverters to produce and send around 4kW of power back to the grid during the day. I also have a MicroCare 5 kW Grid Tie inverter that I run my electronic equipment off, I found this inverter keeps the supply to my electronic clean and constant and protects my equipment during storms and load shedding.

Hi Venom, thanks for you post i would like to hear about your experience with SMH and the 7.2Max. I also run a similar setup but have an issue on SMH where the inverter handler stops and you need to restart it almost every day. And SMH’s accuracy when it comes to PV being generated. I really like smh and have been using it for 5years( well atleast icc) before there split.

Hi Stormpie, I have been using the SMH software for 7 days now and have not had a problem with the inverter stopping and having to be restarted manually to date. Still early days. In regards to the PV generation accuracy I will get back to you once I know how many solar panels I have connected and the size of them. I have six solar strings coming into my house and I have utilized two of them for the Kodak Inverter but not sure what capacity they are at this stage.
