PV panel match for 3000W OG-Plus 3.24 inverter with max PVA power of 1500W

Hi There. I have a Kodak OG-Plus 3.24 King 3000W inverter which has a max PVA power rating of 1500W. What is the ideal PVA installation power rating? Is it exactly 1500W or should it be slightly higher or lower? The VOC is 145v. MPP range @ operating voltage is 30-115vdc. Efficiency in LINE mode is 93%.

Thanks

Pat

It's so hard to get a straight answer for this one. The maximum PV output on these models is I believe 60 A (on the battery side), hence 25 x 60 = 1500 W. Usually you can provide panels that are up to 20% more than this; this allows for more production in shade, early or late in the day, etc. More "overclocking" than this could cause problems with overshoots. So 120% x 1500 = 1800W max.

With today's giant panels, you have to choose carefully. It seems best to stay away from the higher voltages with these models, so usually these days that means 2S. So perhaps 2S2P of 400-450 W panels, or 2S3P of 250-300 W panels.

Thanks for this informative feedback Coulomb...will help with my decision.
