Morning All and compliments of the season to you.

Any idea what would be the cause for this rather large negative load spike I saw on my system this morning?

So, the only change that has happened to the system is that I updated the Solar Assistant software last night. I am currently on the Beta programme.

This is the status of the system at the moment. Please note the pool kicked in at 10am.

So, feedback from Solar Assistant is that the latest Beta software update has changed a few things in terms of calculations and it also includes taking into account the Aux load.

It was also suggested that the CT clamp could be the wrong way round. This would then make sense as the above graph should have Load in Blue above the x-axis with Grid in Red below the x-axis.

But if I change the CT clamp around, does this not then affect the data that is shown on the LCD of the inverter and that that data would be "swapped" around so to speak?

Or, maybe that the software update from Solar Assistant has got the two values (Load and Grid) swapped around 🤔

This would make sense as shown now by the updated data from the table indicating Grid is in fact Load and Load is in fact Grid.

@MdF I noticed the same thing happening today at times - I did upgrade Solar Assistant to the latest version (BETA) this morning if I remember). I did see some of those negative loads / and loads dropping to ZERO and then back up a few times today.   Not sure if it might be related / similar issue being experienced.

NOTE:  Values are tiny - cause I do not currently have anything on the load side - all is GRID/Hybrid side.

Interesting StickyTape.

Methinks there might be an issue with the software update SA did yesterday. Then again, this is the Beta programme which is aimed at looking for bugs etc?

true - suppose I'm going to keep an eye on it for a while and see if it reoccurs and how frequent etc.

Hi All,

I can confirm that the Grid value on the inverter LCD is the same as the Grid value on SA.

However, the Load value on the inverter LCD is not the same as the Load value on SA.

If you add the Load and PV values on SA together, then that is the same as the Load on the inverter LCD.

Edit: I think SA just needs to make the Load value positive and the Grid value negative.

Am looking to get the Sunsynk 5kW 48v Inverter with 1 x Hubble AM and build up my battery bank... how reliable is it for you experienced guys is it to always go on the Beta systems say for the Solar Assist? I know this helps the Inverter manufacturer make improvements, but what are the risk factors in the real world and does one also always need to make sure they are on the latest Inverter firmware?

I went on to the Beta programme for SA simply to get access to the Power Management option. All worked fine doing remote power management from the app.

Until today that is when the Beta programme got software update and the system is now graphing data incorrectly.

But the inverter itself is still displaying the correct data on the LCD so I am not worried about there being an inverter problem.

Hopefully SA will be able to fix the issue on the Beta programme shortly.

Thanks for the timeous response. Good to hear... clearly don't want to start another thread here about which inverter has more options and functionality at the best cost, so I won't. How long have you had your inverter for and if a layman was planning on purchasing would you recommend it? I know I do love tinkering and looking at stats and performance data, but for someone who wants a "install-and-forget" system, would Deye/Sunsynk be your recommendation? Of course I'm aware Deye and Sunsynk are the same except with regards to user and software interface at the moment.

Pleasure.

I have had the Deye 5kw inverter installed for just over 5 months now. Yes, it simply has been Install & Forget but you definitely do get sucked into this new world of solar energy etc. and so tinkering and decent reporting functionality grows exponentially.

The majority of inverter purchases here on the forum appear to be Sunsynk so you wouldn't go wrong with that. That being said, if stock is a problem then the Deye is basically the same unit just with different software.

From what I have also learnt over the past while is that the battery selection is probably the most important choice to make and that inverter compatibility is the biggest check box to tick off.

I went with an installation recommended by my installer as time was an issue when loadshedding was getting problematic and a quick install was needed. I do not regret his recommendations of the install at all and am very happy with what the system is doing.

Also went with the Solar Assistant software purchase as that has given me a very good insight into how the system is performing. This is especially true in the beginning phase of understanding how to use the install and the 1sec reporting and graphing has been most advantageous.

Hoping that the current beta programme issue will get resolved soon as the data today is not making sense at all.

I have just updated all the sites I am monitoring using SA (mix of axpert inverters)  ... everything is still the same.

Thanks for that feedback.

Not sure then what is going on on my system. Maybe the CT coil? But then why would that be as it was all working fine previously?

Good to hear, you went with the Sunsynk, I've also been thinking of pulling the plug on a Sunsynk 5Kw inverter as well, once funds permit and then grow the battery bank incrementally.

You mean "pull the trigger", not "pull the plug" 😄

A most excellent choice, the Sunsynk needs a battery, even a small one, to operate in Hybrid mode, this is where you want to be in order to maximise solar usage. You can probably even keep your existing flatteries and start saving even more every day towards a nice set of Lithiums.

So, SA has been rectified for my install by Pierre. Great assistance in support for their software.

However, not sure the way going forward as previous poster here said that Beta updated to a number of their systems showed no issues 🤔
