January 10, 20223 yr Perhaps you need to provide a little more information as to what you are wanting… Are you looking for lead acid or Lithium? What size battery are you after? R300 does seem a little low, even for a lead acid battery. A used lithium battery, if you can find one would be a couple thousand.

I am looking for Lead Acid batteries that are no longer ideal for normally heavy usage but can still power things like small 12v lights and charge a phone when connected to a solar panel.
January 11, 20223 yr In that case you could get away with a second hand car battery. Go ask at battery centre if they don’t have one that is still “okay” A couple of years ago I got one from them and only paid for the “scrap” price which was around R350 back then.
