Hi All

I recently upgraded from 3 x Axpert 5kva units to 2 x SOL-I-AX-8M.

Issue 1: where can I download the correct firmware for Inverter and that removable panel on the front? I'm struggling to confirm if SOL-I-AX-8M its an Axpert Max or King. Reason being, I suspect some of the issues below may be firmware or removable panel firmware related.

Issue 2: (Partially Fixed) Pylontech BMS was not being recognised, after many attempts managed to get the correct cable made and connected to the HS inverter. Battery hexagon is now flashing on the HS inverter where it is directly connected. I suspect it may be related to issue 3. But the SL inverter still shows error 61 which is when setting 05 is on PLY and it cannot communicate with the BMS. I thought because they are parallel the errors would clear on the SL inverter.

Issue 3: Units are in Parallel but displays are showing different load readings and battery charge levels. They are definitely operating in parallel because changes made on one are being replicated to the other. They also have HS and SL on the front panels respectively.

Issue 4: I had SMH connected to the old Inverter but not sure how to connect the Pi to this inverter. When I use a standard mini USB it kills the removable panel and I have to reboot it. (Resolved, faulty Mini USB cable)

Issue 5: Online UPS's are humming and buzzing like crazy when running on Solar (SUB) or full on Battery. Line interactive UPS's are fine.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I will share a few photos tonight.

You can't download Axpert Max [ edit: 8 kW main ] firmware anywhere that I know of. So you'll have to request it from your supplier. It looks like you have a legitimate problem that can be solved with later firmware. Perhaps you could upload it to the file section when you get it.

You have a Max, because of the LED strip, and the presumed 8kW rating.

It's OK for the two units to show different charge current, and they can have different charge limits. They can also have slightly different output power, like 31% and 36%. If they vary by much more than that, the output cabling might have different lengths, for example. You should also have the current sharing (black and red twisted) cables installed, they are hopefully inside some of those conduits.

Mustek are refusing to help and share the firmware. We now have to remove the units from the premises and ship them to Mustek so they can do the upgrade. Beyond real.

Huh. I wonder if Voltronic consider the Axpert MAX II as their flagship product, and want to keep the firmware out of the hands of the cloners for as long as possible. If so, that won't be Mustek's fault.

I'm sure that doesn't make the shlep any easier... 😒
