After doing some research into a hybrid inverter and watching lots of videos ... reading posts on this forum ... I thought I would  look into supplying and installing Sunsynk inverters.

In November (20 November 2021) last year I scratched around and found a company which I thought was the SA distributer. I sent an email to the company and today the 25 January 2022, I still havent been able to get a price list for the Sunsynk inverter from the distributer. I have hear excuses like covid, end of year shutdown, people on leave, you name it I have heard it.

My question is who are the distributers and is it the same company which offers the support ?

I tried to contact David Drake this morning to enquire about sales and support, his name number and email is listed as the SA contact. The number just goes to voice mail, so I have sent him an email.

My concern, if it is this difficult to contact the distributor or sale person, how difficult will it be to get support when things go wrong? Do the same people who distribute the units in SA do the service and warranty repairs ?

15 emails (over 2 months) later I dont even have a price list yet :( ... imagine how difficult it would be to get a unit repaired ... eeeeesih.

People say Victron is expensive ... I have dealt with the local victron distributor ... and I can tell you from first hand experience with them ... you certainly dont have to deal with any of these challenges ... I suppose at the end of the day you get what you pay for.

Maybe I should do a little more research ... my company has been around for 31 years and I have a policy of doing things right the first time ... maybe Sunsynk is not the good choice.

Lets try this ... I would like to purchase Sunsynk inverters for resale as an installer.

Please private message me your contact details so that we can discuss pricing and support.

I started to laugh when I saw you mention support and Sunsynk in the same sentence, I unfortunately have had to make use of what they call support, I would advise if you have the opportunity to use another product to rather do so.

Whenever I have had an issue with a Sunsynk, which was twice in 18 months, the inverter was repaired within a week.

So I have never had any issues with their after sales support

That saying too good to be true ... well after 2 months of trying suck prices out of a distributer listed above ... I finally got a price today.

I thought people were battling for business ... clearly I am mistaken ... it seems I was also mistaken thinking there was only one distributor ... it seem anyone can be a distributor.

If only I had done my research a bit better ... I will be contacting other distributors this week ... hopefully my experience will be a little better.

I am told Victron support is 48 hours.

By the way what kind of issues ... damaged power contactor/relay ?

No sure what issues you've had, but so far very happy with the SunSynk support I've received both locally and from the UK office.

Issues such as an inverter having a factory fault and not powering on.

Another inverter had a faulty connector block which was sorted in a day.

So I have always had great service.

I have a Victron system and can 100% agree their support is beyond excellent, I first took it up with supplier they took it into the distributor and agreed it was faulty (even gave me a temp MPPT while mine was in (got to love the modular system)) then later had a crazy hard to reproduce issue under very specific conditions, took it up with plonkster and got tier 3 support from the Netherlands with in a day.

+1 to Victron in for support

I made the mistake of thinking Ellies would offer good service and support, F%^& was I wrong. After weeks of frustration trying to suck an inverter out of Ellies, eventually after weeks of emails (15 emails) I was told they have no stock :(

I decided to shop around, sent out a bunch of emails and waited patiently for a response, I should have done this in the beginning. I got a response from a company within a hour, I had the installer application email before the close of business.

I dont know if it is just the person who is on the ball or the company in general, my experience dealing with this company has been such a pleasure. Ellies should send their  sales team to this company for training.

Dean, what inverter would you recommend? I currently have a Kodak OG-PLUS5.48rm which gives me endless hassles and Segans after sales service is poor and slow. I was going to change to Sunsynk but hear they are even worse as far as support is concerned.
