Hi Guys,

I have some kit I would like to sell, as detailed below (photos to follow):

Victron Multiplus 5kVA/48V - SOLD

  • Inverter has newer controller type (2624158.HEX) .
  • I'm unsure of the firmware version currently installed on the unit.
  • Unit is new, and has never been connected.
  • Balance of Warranty is +-4 years (Purchased unit in December 2015)

Price: R32 500  R31 000 and I'll include my MK2-USB interface for programming and firmware update

SMA Sunnyboy SB4000-TL21

  • SMA SB4000-TL21 with yellow (Solarworld branded GTI) cover
  • Has web-connect module included as standard for monitoring
  • Unit is currently installed, and is country-set for off-grid with Frequency shift control
  • The country code can be set for grid-tie, but you will need an installer code to do this.
  • Unit is connected to 3.8kwp of surge-protected PV
  • Total PV production/grid feed by the unit, to date, is around 3700kwh (very low)
  • Unit has been in use for around 12 months (Installed in January 2016, purchased in October 2015)

Price: R19 000  R17900 Negotiable

If you purchase these as a bundle, Price for the lot is negotiable. I can also arrange shipping nationwide if required.

Reasons for selling:

Multiplus: I purchased this unit a while ago to expand (with a bit of swapping) my existing setup. The idea was to parallel up a second inverter to give a higher base capacity so that large loads could be powered at night, off grid. I am however looking at changing my systems to Victron's new grid-parallel ESS (or the older Hub4 configuration). I don't need a second inverter to help manage the peaks, as the grid will do most of the stabilization. Hence, this unit is for sale.

SMA: I need to have my Victron setup comm with the GTI via a network to prevent grid feed-in. Although Sun-spec is used as a default comms, I just don't have the time to tweak and implement comms with the Sunny Boy. Comms between the CCGX and most Fronius GTI's is supported out the box. I am considering replacing the Sunny Boy with a Fronius Primo for this reason. The Sunny Boy has worked very well, and is great for somebody looking for a pure GTI, or where grid feed-in is not a problem.

Let me know if you need any other information, photos... Etc, or if you think my pricing is out.

Thanks,

Nick

It's the 26-series processor, the 24 is is the model (MultiPlus 48/5000/70-100), and it currently has firmware 158 loaded (which is ancient). They always come out of the factory with old firmware, so this does not matter at all. You'll flash it to 2624408 at install time.

I'm currently running an ESS setup. Works very well.

Hi Plonkster.

Thanks for clarifying that! The Multiplus us still in its as-purchased configuration. I do recall that the firmware on my Quattro was also fairly old, and I have since flashed it with 4xx (not sure which version)

More Info for anybody interested:
As far as I know, Firmware files can be attained from Victron's service department. You can flash the new firmware with a Mk3/Mk2-USB and VE.Flash, and by carefully following the instructions on their online manuals.

I can help you with the firmware. But the best way is to go to professional.victronenergy.com and register, then you get access to all that stuff for yourself.

They also have "VEBus firmware numbers.txt" on there that explains how to figure out which is the right firmware.
