Hi All,

I am fairly new to solar and have just installed the following -

5Kw Deye Inverter

2 X 5.12Khw Lithium Ion Batteries

12 x 415w Canadian Solar Panels

The system works perfectly. The only issue i have is with my my pre-paid meter. Model PH104, I am based in Durban and it was installed by eThekwini Municipality. The pre-paid meter intermittently connects to the parent device in the meter room. When it was connected to one of the plugs on the essentials load it would only read when the DC light on the inverter went off, at night when their is no sun. My installer recommended connecting it to the non essentials feed which we did. Now the meter only connects when I mimic a power failure and switch the AC breaker to off and i am running off my batteries it connects perfectly to the parent device.

It has never tripped my power or triggered an alarm. When it connects I can install credits etc.

Has anyone experienced this ? Guidance and advise will be appreciated please

Thanks

I had this ... my installer guy didnt get the difference between essential, non-essential and smart load (aux).  After the DB was rewired several times the oven is now correctly non-essential, between the CT coil and the inverter. I wired by meter directly to the back of the oven and have had no issues since.

Thanks, so i need to tap of one my my aircon feeds as they are three separate breakers on the non essentials

I did exactly this, but now my meter only connects if that specific aircon is switched on 😣

Mmmm that is interesting 😬 , I guess this is dependant on what type ( make / model ) prepaid meter is used due to the different outcomes of the work around

What make of prepaid have you got/

Any users with a Deye/Sunsynk that does not trip a Tshwane Conlog prepaid meter's anti-tampering?

Alternatively you can bypass the inverter using the changeover switch when you need to recharge at any essential plug point.
