PaulF007 Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 I got a weather station over the weekend and have managed to get it online. Posting to www.wunderground.com now , it works quite well but I want to import some of the info into emon. Has anyone played with weather stations before? P Quote
SilverNodashi Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 I'm building my own using a Raspberry Pi and various sensors. Surely you can hookup those sensors to a Rasperry Pi and do the same? You would need to figure out which components they used and then write / use some code off the net to post the data Quote

It currently does make provision for sending the data to weather underground but I can't figure how to get it to Emon. I suspect that Cumulus might have the option there in the custom settings but for now it eludes me. Quote

There are many samples on the net of sending data to emoncms from different platforms and if Cumulus is open source (it looks like), then it should be too difficult to get the data to emoncms. Quote

The new CumulusMX may have EMON support and also has a Linux version if I remember correctly. http://sandaysoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=12908#p101008 Quote
PaulF007 Posted February 8, 2017 Author Posted February 8, 2017 Hozid @Mark where do you send your data? Quote
PaulF007 Posted February 8, 2017 Author Posted February 8, 2017 Cool for now I am also sending it to WU and for instant view it is quite nice , but I do like to fiddle with the data , hence emon , there is a PHP script that you can run to import the data from WU to emon but it sort off feels counter productive to upload the data to WU and then download it to emon again ... cvzyl Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 @PaulF007, I use CumulusMX running on a RaspberryPi to read the station data and send it to WU. I also use Meteotemplate (www.meteotemplate.com) to record to a local database and display on a website. You can try contacting the developer (Jachym), he is very responsive and eager to develop new features. C Quote

If I have a local server then I could look at sending the info from that server to emon.. Quote
