brburger Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 I have axpert type inverter with 4.8kw lifepo4 (15 cells). Currently my bulk is 51.6v and float 51.5, but I would like to increase as I think batteries not charging fully. Could someone assist with what voltages I can safely use for bulk and float? Quote
WannabeSolarSparky Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 (edited) Those are good voltages, you are not overstressing the charge cycles. As these are lifepo4 you do not get very much energy amps charged in at the last few % 97% is a very good point for your lifepo4 batteries to be at, they are essentially fully charged. Andy from Off-Grid Garage has a few explainer videos about the charge levels Here is his latest one. Edited April 19, 2022 by WannabeSolarSparky Quote
iiznh Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 (edited) Without BMS communication knowing the state of charge is always difficult, there could also be a voltage drop due to wiring. What does the multi-meter measure directly on the battery when in charge/float. How much does it differ from the readings on the inverter? Lithium is fully charged when the current tapers off and the voltage rises above 3.45V. Andy makes some great videos (video above) Edited April 19, 2022 by iiznh Quote
