For the people who know or can help.

Is there a way for the axpert inverter to have a more accurate SOC determination other than using its own calculation

A bit of more info I have a single Bluenova 5.2 DU rackpower battery.

Would I need the BMAC controller from Bluenova to communicate with Solar assistant. I see I would need a Rasberry Pi but I really don't have a clue about setting it up

It comes already loaded with program. Plug in and select inverter and battery. Connect to wifi. Done

Go and have a look on there site. Nice setup instructions and videos.

Not sure about the BMAC controller. They will assist

I monitor the batteries directly on a separate laptop via a RS485 line and USB adapter. The Pmodbus Toos monitoring software comes with the battery packs from Averge. I guess that every battery manufacturer has its own monitoring software compatible with their BMS.

However there is one restriction: I burned the communication board on the inverter when I connected the BMS RS485 line to the same laptop that monitors the inverter. There is a ground level conflict. Luckily there was no other damage. I now use two different laptops. Otherwise I would need an optocoupler to isolate the grounds.
