Greg Lee Sun Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 Hi There All On Sunday Morning during loadshedding my inverter switched off even though I still had about 35% Battery capacity left at the time. When power returned I rebooted the inverter but kept on getting Battery comms failure on the PV app. Tried restarting Batteries and inverter a number of times but no use. I have 6 x Pylontech US2000s set to 80%DOD on grid and 80% off grid. System has been running fine since I installed it in Feb 2019. Inverter works fine except it cannot charge/discharge the batteries at all. Goodwe says it could be the firmware and tried to push an upgrade but failed twice. They have sent me a link to update ARM which I will try to do tonight. Any other suggestions? Thanks in Advance Quote
P1000 Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 Sounds like a hardware fault to me. Try a different cable. If that does not work, try with another battery as master, or just with a single battery, but not the current master. (in order to determine if the fault is the battery.) If that does not work, your problem is likely the inverter (which a firmware update is very unlikely to fix). Quote
John Koen Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 I have the same problem. The system works well except that there is a communication failure causing the batteries not to discharge. It also does not push any excess power generated back into the grid and the batteries also does not charge via the grid. I have tried to contact Goodwe but have not received any response from them. My Smart meter (Power meter) is also off. If you are able to resolve your problem, please share the solution. In the meantime I am hoping for good weather to keep the batteries charged during load shedding. Quote
