Solar System (PV) Labeling

Featured Replies

Hi All

I'm looking for a PDF document with the South African PV Labels which I can print.  I want to print them on a colour printer and then label my various systems breakers/combiner boxes, etc.  Otherwise a place online that sells the label kits!!

I know you can buy the kits but I am in Little ol Grahamstown.  Printing would be alot cheaper I think.

Thanks

Mark

Hi @Mark. What did you have in mind? I've been looking at something like that as well. If you can give me some specks I can design some to print. We have a printing shop in Belfast that is quite reasonable but it would be better if we can fill an A4 or two , other users can also chip in. Happy to give the labour for the design and layout , and then we share the cost and shipping. Should be cheap enough... Also they should fit in an envelope and the could bring the costs down even more.

I'm going to fiddle tommorrow and I'll send you what I have at the moment.  We can work together on it.  I have no issue with then posting it to the downloads section...<typing thoughtfully> ...for other users to freely use.

If you can help with printing to sticky sheet that would be mooi.  A4 yes.  The way to go!!  You then cut and stick where needed.

Thanks

Mark

Hi @PaulF007 and ALL

This is what I have at the moment.  Vroutjie went and broke her leg yesterday so disruptions on the go...

Feel free to comment or add ....

It may still be good to get a price on the label kit from a local solar distributer (I see they some labels need to be reflective as well) - no time yet I'm afraid.

Regards

Mark

Morning @Mark

It looks good. If I get a chance Ill check with the local printer shop and see what they come up with. I suspect that you would need to cut them out of the A4 yourself but maybe they have a vinyl cutter (some of them do) and they could even do that as well.
Thank you for the hard work and sharing!

Cool.  I don't mind cutting out... thats the easiest.

Sizes of labels is the issue but I have tried to size as appropriate.

Vrou is fine but being stuck on farm not being able to drive for 6 weeks is going to the  huge challenge...:o

Come to think of it. I have a "oficial" electrical label kit that I bought , can remember where. So I will measure what they have there and check what we got and match accordingly.
Should I post the updated files here or under  downloads?

Good luck with the Vrou not nice if yo are bogged down!

Just check that the word photovoltaic is used and not pv. PV does conform anymore and full word is required.

Dankie Meneer.

Hi @Chris-R

On the back burner a bit I'm afraid.  @PaulF007 was going to print them but he is also over the wall a bit.

Sadly one of those projects that seldom gets to the top of the list. ;)

Regards

Mark

Hozid Guys ( @Chris-R , @Mark
The labels finally came through! I didn't go and grab the canon for the pictures but this should give you an idea of what they look like.

and here is some of them mounted

Cost was about R30 for the print of the batch I would say the cheapest that we could get this delivered is registered post via SAPO extra R 20 or so so let's make it R 60 for the "kit" , (Just to make sure that I am not out of pocket :) )
I would prefer to get the tannie to print a couple of "batches" as that would make more sense for them as well.

Let me know!

Paul

@PaulF007I want some please ... just need to figure out where to stick them as my system is still a mess after 7 years. :D

Thanks @PaulF007

I'll take 2x (and if @Chris Hobson wants a set then 3x) - I can get them to him by hand ;)

They look good.  One thing.  Is there a sign for the eskom box warning them or me of the dual system.  Can't remember if it was on the original set I built?

Thanks again

M
