Chris Dononion Posted March 7, 2017 Share Posted March 7, 2017 its now definite my 4 x 100 ah NXT AGM batteries gave up after 2 years :-( max discharge 40% ) what is the best choice at the moment ? Thinking about the, in the forum offered trojan batteries 6 v 225 AH...... 24 volt or 48 volt better ? Can I maybe revive my old batteries ? so many questions ....... and hoping for some help. The straight T105 are R73/Ah and the REs are marginally more expensive at R81/Ah. If you are connected to the grid then 225Ah is more than sufficient. IN my own off-grid situation I would want 400Ah + battery bank and under those circumstances the 105 REs are better value than the T125s or T145s. Remember these are vented LA and you need to have good ventilation for them. I have seen in colder parts of the US a sealed battery box containg vented batteries with an inclined lid to collect the hydrogen and a vent to the outside. 32 minutes ago, Chris Dononion said: Can I maybe revive my old batteries ?
