Posted April 4, 20178 yr Hi. Does anyone know where I can get a decent DIN rail change over switch. I have the AC DC one and it's rubbish.
April 4, 20178 yr Hager makes a really nice one. I got mine from the local electrical wholesaler. AC/DC doesn't sell Hager, they do Gewiss, and that is quite a bit more expensive.
April 4, 20178 yr Agree with @plonkster Don't think I could be happier with this... from Hager. I have 4 in my DB (1 for each phase plus an extra). Got them from Electromechanica for R265 ex vat each.

April 4, 20178 yr I have 2 of these in my DB Box. With the one I can switch over from Grid to Generator and with the second one I can switch over from Inverter to Grid/Generator, depending what is set on the the first change over switch, to bypass the Inverters. They work like a dream. I used to have one of those massive ugly change over switches that takes up the space of a DB Box. If you hit someone on the head with that thing, you could actually kill someone. Now the dog plays with it and drags it out of the garage every now and then.
April 4, 20178 yr To my mind the best in the market, Hagër it is. I also only use them and they are really excellent and good value for money.
April 4, 20178 yr Author I have used the Hager breakers and they are great. You can also get the skinny ones that only take up one space. I'm looking for a cheaper change over but better quality than the AC DC brand. Has anyone used the ZJBenies breakers and isolators? Are they any good?

I looked around a bit and the single-space changeovers are all single-pole. Which I believe isn't good enough, it violates SANS. Also, the double-pole isolators that fit into the smaller package are also limited to 25 ampere (if I recall) so if it exists, it might not be sufficient. The SF263 (two spaces, 63 amps) is the one to get for a single phase setup.
April 6, 20178 yr Author Hager do a 2 pole single space breaker. I'm not sure about their change overs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

April 8, 20178 yr Hager is very good. ZBenny hasn't failed me yet, but I haven't used them for years at end, yet.

No, you can buy directly but you don't get the best prices. If you can get someone in the trade or another retailer to purchase for you then you might get better prices. Dou can also purchase via https://www.livecopper.co.za/collections/hager but they have a limited offering.
April 27, 20195 yr Contact livecopper.co.za via email. They sourced all the Hager stuff I originally wanted from EM, and made it much easier, and also slightly cheaper. It took about a day or two longer for them to source the units first.
