2nd hand 24V Lead-Acid batteries

If all goes well I'll have two old ones available soon, though it could take two more weeks or so. It's 2 x 200Ah Victron AGMs, they still seem to be in good shape but given that they were already second hand when I got them, and I've had them almost two years now, they probably have a year or so of light use left in them. No idea 1) how to get them to you (they are HEAVY) or 2) what I'd even ask in terms of money. I paid 1.5k a piece, I could probably let them go for scrap value which is around R500 a piece?

some one to transport them to the Karoo

I occasionally go halfway (to Prince Albert), but the next trip is in a week and I doubt my new batteries will be here by then, I believe it will take at least another ten days before that happens (sans installation).

Still waiting for the new bank, perhaps this week :-)

Over the weekend, while away, I gave it a nice constant discharge test at around C20, down to 65% SoC. I think it is clear they are no longer new. They were at 24V just dipping below it by the end.

New batteries finally went through customs yesterday. Will be delivered tomorrow. But I'm heading to Namibia for a week, so they will only get installed beginning of October. If your client is still looking, we can make a plan after that.

Hopefully this week. Had to install some fencing on the weekend so this had to stand over.

Just wanted to say, these batteries are not at all new anymore. They are not as toasted as my Trojans was, but they are definitely at the 50% mark now. See image, about 58% SoC, and a C10 rate drops it below 24V...

It would be interesting to know how long they last before finally dying. That battery started life in a UPS for a small data center, company called FireID (the guys who make snapscan). A contact of mine got them cheaply from there and had them on a maintenance charge for a few weeks, so technically when I bought them we were at owner number 3. That was November 2015. So I had them almost two years, they were cycled daily to maybe 70% or 65%. So they are now at owner number 4. For a pair of AGMs they really aren't doing too badly...
