Not a good picture by any standards but it will give you an idea...

Got a small 200l  tank on the shed that supply pressure to the workshop ( feeding it with a little ram pump). A piece of pool noodle a copper pipe and , just for fun , one of those "game table" , solar lights one glance to the roof and you can see it is full or not. Not sure on a large tank but low tech always work (apart from the light).

I would prefer it if the lightning hits my water tank, even if it explodes, it will cause less damage than hitting my solar panels or DSTV dish with 2 x decoders and 8 x LED TV's connected to it.
