Hello all
I would like to share my problem maybe someone can help me
I have a black screen case
I have a King Inverter (5KW) and when updating the display screen at some point it became black
On consulting Mr. (Colombo) to him very much, he gave me some instructions
And here is my main problem
When downloading the repair program, the program is downloaded to 1% and sometimes 5%, and then the download is interrupted, as shown in the picture
I really tried a lot for several days and didn't find any result
I hope to help me from the owners of experience, and thank you very much

OK, since you're getting past 0%, you must have the timing correct, or at least good enough.

Something that plagues these removable displays is the opto-couplers. Voltronic use particularly cheap and nasty ones, and they do degrade with time as well.

So you may do well to replace the opto-couplers in the removable display, if you're able to do that. I think that there are pointers in the modification and repair topic.

Unfortunately I replaced them and nothing changed

Do you have any left over? There are also optos in the small comms board in the inverter (different to the comms board in the models without a removable display). They might be the ones that are faulty, or are also faulty.

The fact that you seem to be able to get part way through a reflash operation suggests to me that it's not totally dead.

There is also the possible issue that it seems that a resistor is sometimes needed in series with one of the RS-232 data wires. Sadly I can't recall which data direction, whether it was a 1 kΩ or 10 kΩ resistor, or where I read it.

i mentioned in a previous post that when i updated my King unit the screen went blank after trying a few times and fortunately i got distracted for a good few minutes.

When i came back the display was back on.

It needs time to go through the programming and the blank display is not noted in the instructions.

I found it; it was on the Czech site in a spreadsheet document. The resistor is 1 kΩ (some instructions use 3kΩ). Here are the two important photos:

The white wire is transmit data from the inverter to the PC (via the USB to RS-232 adapter). So some USB to RS-232 adapters may be loading the transmit data pin too much, or the resistor may be needed to reduce rise time or introduce a slight delay (I can't see how that helps anything). The Czech web site refers to this document with the following text: "ATTENTION - in some production batches of Axpert VM III, MAX and King converters, the display may be damaged by overheating when trying to flash the firmware. A special cable is required ."

As before, I'm sceptical, but this may help someone.

hi

So I finally decided to upgrade remote module firmware, prepared the cable with 1KOm resistor, etc.
And faced the same issue.
I was scared a lot (
But I decided to press "Update MCU" again and found that it looks like continue writing blocks incrementally.
So I pressed the button again and again, maybe 20 times until the flashing completed.
And it succeeded. The display start working and showed 103.73
huh...
