Hi everyone,

We have had a rough couple of days. We have been made aware that SA Solar Suppliers (sasolarsuppliers.co.za) have been using our VAT and Company Reg No.

This is fraudulent and we have opened a case against them.

Our hardworking team is in NO WAY AFFILIATED WITH THEM and it is causing reputation all damage to our company.
This comes after the fact that we were broken into last week and COMPLETELY cleared out.

Please spread the news and if anyone has any info please contact us at the number on our website.

The website is still operational along with many happy reviews. Nothing on www.hellopeter.com for "sasolarsuppliers" or "sa solar suppliers" which is the first place I look if something seems suspicious (actually even if it doesn't).

@KimO why not put something there?

@YellowTapemeasure

I need a reliable installer and supplier of Luxpower in Cape Town, an installer with Luxpower experience and not just an online store that sells or advertises the hardware.

Its clear this industry is full of traps..people trying to cash in fast, on the desperation the ESKOM saga has caused, and vanish.

And powerforumstore doesnt sell Luxpower.  just Kodak, SunSynk and Solis hybrid inverters.

The Powerforumstore is not just an "online store", they know of and can recommend good installers. It is staffed by people that are renowned for their experience and expertise, and are highly trusted sources of information.

And yes, they do sell Luxpower inverters:

Use or lose.

Seems their site is still up.... I would never trust an online store which uses only EFT as a payment option..

My firewall blocks it:

Seems to get a neutral rating on Cisco Talos, but Virustotal reports it as malicious:

I wrote that SASOLARSUPPLIERS are conn artists.  they delayed delivery of the batteries we ordered from them.  When they arrived they were not those we specified.  We requested the correct product.  they wanted us to return their duff batteries and they would provide the correct product.  I spoke to the manufacturer of the batteries we ordered.  They advised they have not provided SASolar Suppliers with batteries and they are not customers.  We have contacted SAPS and the credit card company that we used to pay for the product.  Sadly the matter is unresolved.

I paid them for an inverter. Their price was very good. I received no inverter and no refund. I don't know if it is possible to get the money back.

Log a case at your local police station, get a copy of the Aphidavit you make, call your banks fraud department, log a case with them.

Phone the fraud department form the bank that you transferred the money to as well and log a case with them as well.

If the money was transferred to an account at your bank it should be relatively easy for them to return the money after they have investigated.

I have successfully had money returned from an online scammers account, it does however require following up with your bank on progress etc on a regular basis.

I work on "the squeaky wheel get's oiled first" principle which seems to work with the fraud departments.

In my experience the bank were not super efficient at following up on fraud cases but can be coerced into sorting it out. It is vitally important to keep a record of names and dates when you speak to people about the case in case and to follow up with them, you need to go up the food chain at the bank to get resolution if people doi not stick to their commitments.

 Good luck.
