Posted December 22, 20222 yr So earlier this week my new system was commissioned and we experienced a nice reprieve from the heavy load shedding situation. However all is not well in the land of low tech battery to inverter comms. It appears that Revov has introduced a different BMS on the (new) 220Ah R9 model and I can‘t get the Deye (or solar assistant for that matter) to speak to the battery. Revov is uncontactable on all channels, basically they disappeared from the planet, stranding me with this problem. Can anyone here shed some light on this BMS that supposedly uses CAN bus to communicate with inverter? Pic below. According to solar assistant support, the RS485 pinout also changed but I didn’t receive the correct pinout from them yet. I have 2 of these daisy chained. This is the second unit.
December 23, 20222 yr Have same issue with SolarAsist, does not communicate with Rilevov b100 firtslife Jaco
February 22, 20232 yr @mneeth the BMS you have is listed on this page with some notes which might be useful https://solar-assistant.io/help/battery/revov @ttjaco the B100 is definitely readable with SolarAssistant via the telephone size RS232 port
February 22, 20232 yr Author Thanks, yes, Solar assistant's software does not yet reliably read the DR BMS which I have. We got it going and saw very erratic readings. Plus, it seems you can't have both CAN to SA and to the Inverter at the same time from this BMS. "This battery does not have a RS232 port. Support for this battery is under development. SolarAssistant battery metrics will be erratic and incorrect for the time being.Use our Shoto/Dyness RS485 cable. If an inverter is already reading it via CAN or RS485, then SolarAssistant can not read it at the same time."
