Hi

Hope you are all well, Could someone please clarify this for me. I am currently on Pre-paid electricity with City of Joburg, I have one of those Hexing Customer units and on one phase. I am planning to install some solar equipment to help drop my monthly usage on COJ. Is this possible, someone told me that if you on pre-paid, your solar power that is generated still makes the prepaid meter tick as if you are using COJ. I plan on installing a 5kv Sunsynk with a hubble 5.5 and 12 x 455kw JA panels.

Logically if wired correctly on your DB, it should not use units from the prepaid.  There is a small usage that comes through even when you are generating solar fully for the load as it has to ensure the frequency of the grid is followed.

This is logic as opposed to real world, but there would have been a lot more written on this if it was a major issue
