Posted January 9, 20232 yr Good day, I have some problems in my Axpert VM IV 4000 TWIN, which is connected to four 545 w solar panel and a 200 ah 24 v lithium battery. And the problems are: 1. Sometimes the energy taken from the solar panel drop suddenly about 500 Watt even though the load is constant and the sun radiation is good. 2. Sometimes the inverter draws some amps from the battery even though there is a good sun radiation. Setting: 01 Output sours priority: SUB 26 Bulk charging voltage: 28.5 V 27 Float charging voltage: 28 V Firmware version: U1: 60.01 U2: 39.04 May I know the reasons behind such problems: Does updating the firmware solve the problem or there must be something else? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

You could attempt to update to firmware version 56.97, available from this post. Please report results, good or bad. These have not yet been patched for the "stuck at 120 V" problem (at least it's not as bad as the "stuck at 90 V" problem).
January 9, 20232 yr Author Thank you for your reply, I have two questions, 1. Can I use 56.97 version for VM IV 4000 TWIN with RGB, the current version is U1 60.01 2. Can I put the firmware file in an OTG USB flash memory and insert it in the inverter USB port to update firmware?

The file names suggest this too, and I can confirm that the firmwares (56.97 and 60.90) appear to be very similar, with the 56.97 version later than the 60.90 version. I have no idea why the difference in major version number; both firmwares use the same reflash command, and as far as I know, all VM models (apart from the lowest power models) use the '28062 chip. If you're concerned, you could start with the 60.90 version, which at least has the same major version number, and only attempt 56.97 if you still have problems. 6 hours ago, BasharT said: Can I put the firmware file in an OTG USB flash memory and insert it in the inverter USB port to update firmware? Yes, I believe so. It will be looking for the VP5k.hex file. I don't know why it's named that: the same VM III firmware works for 4 kW and 6 kW Twin models.

Is the file extension must be bin or I cant us USB port for updating U1? Edited January 10, 20232 yr by BasharT

It looks like the firmware hasn't caught up with the new habit of calling the hex file VP5k.hex. Try this: After you copy the hex file to the USB stick, rename the hex file to VM3.hex (with that exact case, in case it matters). Edit: Hex files are not binary files, although they are a text representation of binary data (the firmware binary image). Edited January 11, 20232 yr by Coulomb
