Hi guys,

I'm new to the forums, officially at least, as I've been browsing as a guest for some time and gaining a lot of valuable information in the process. I'm finally looking at taking the plunge and purchasing an inverter/battery backup system as a first phase approach to stick it to Eskom but the one thing I'm having trouble reconciling is the cost to install these systems. I totally understand that we all need to make money and I understand the concept of supply/demand but good grief most installers/electricians seem to be taking the p&ss with their installation fees.

I'm not an electrician or electrical engineer but have a pretty good fundamental understanding of electrical/electronic circuitry and components. I know that I could do the installation myself and that I could get a registered electrician to pass a COC but my question for those who have done so is how do you get around registering your warranty for the hardware?

In my mind, provided the installation is done to code and a COC is passed, surely the warranty should remain valid for the hardware?

I'm interested in purchasing a Sunsynk 5kva hybrid inverter and pairing with a Hubble AM2 battery. If there's any thoughts, advice or even suggestions on the matter it would be much appreciated.

Thanks folks!

Hi

I have the same setup and did it myself.

Haven't had issues with my Sunsynk so can't comment. I friend also did is own and had to send it back to Sunsynk for a replacement (faulty unit) and there was not many questions asked. They inspect the unit before replacing it.

Had to send my Hubble in for cell replacement. They had no issues.
