Posted January 15, 20232 yr Purchased an ECCO 40 amp solar charge controller on 17th December. It is said to auto-detect the battery voltage On connecting it to a 52 volt battery, after a minute the buzzer sounds and "12V" is shown on the display and warning indicated Reported this to Communica. No response After performing 4 factory resets, it now shows 52.4V on display Set the maximum charge to 56.5V. On checking, it is still the same Next day, battery is displaying over charge. Maximum charge has reverted to 57.6V Set it again Next day it is back to 57.6V again. Battery supplier tells me this is damaging the battery and loans me a Victron charger. This works 100% Write again to Communica, advising problem and say I want to return it and purchase a Victron from them No response Return the ECCO to Communica on 5th Jan. No Victron in stock Now I am supposed to return the loaned Victron charger, but instead I pay for it Advise Communica Two reminders No response. Manager will return call I am told So its off to Consumer Protection complaints now
