Posted January 16, 20232 yr Good day Ime trying to make up my mind. Ime looking for a 5k inverter to use with a hubble am5 but ime torn between the Axpert, luxpower and Growatt. the thing leading me to the King is the size of the community using them and the support you can get. Does anyone have a preference.

January 16, 20232 yr My preference is driven by my budget. I like the fact that the Axperts have a growing enthusiast community supporting them, in addition to decent support if you purchase the Kodak/Mecer rebrands If I were to spend the additional money, I would discount growatt and luxpower, and look at Sunsynk instead

But again, we don't all drive Toyotas.

Hey there, thanks for the feedback. i really do like the 2 mppt charges because it enables me to have a second string milking the morning sun.

Not trying to convince you to go with any specific inverter brand/Make. Consider this 2 X 5000 ES growatt inverters = 10 KVA. and you will have your two strings. This is how I have my system with one 5.1 KWH battery. no split DB my entire house in connected to the inverters. My average consumption is about 24 KW/H so far, I've managed to bring my daily grid dependance to about 6 KW/H tremendous save. Also, so far, I've managed to survive every single load shedding. I must admit there were 4 times that I had to use a bit of grid power to top up the battery. See attached dashboard of my system 1 year up to today.

Thanks @Antonio de Sa What i like about having 2 units is that ime covered if one of them breaks. it gives me a disaster recovery strategy !! What size solar array do you have ? So now we move from preference to requirement What's your budget What's your primary requirement What's your seconday/nice to have Once you define those, then we can have a more informed discussion about what best suits your use case, instead of just "preference"
January 16, 20232 yr Author @madness_za What's your budget ? - If possible i dont spend more that 20K on the inverter. With the prices increasing the way they have been the Sunsynk just keeps moving away What's your primary requirement ? - My house does not consume a lot of power (10 unis a day), Ime looking for an inverter that can carry my house in loadshedding and also save me a few units a day. I know all 3 those inverters can "blend" with Eskom and for that reason they are on my list. I have a small Axpert that i wrote some code for so i can monitor my Axpert inverter on Victron VRM so the monitoring is not an issue. Also i want to be able to use the grid if i go above 5kva, so the inverter must bypass to deal with the small spike. Must be something that can be repaired locally (cape Town) by me or by an installer. What's your seconday/nice to have - i would like to add a second unit to be there in case of emergency ALSO low fan noise haha Edited January 16, 20232 yr by Jonny

January 17, 20232 yr Author Thanks for the responses guys. This seems to always be the tough question.
January 17, 20232 yr Author After some consideration ime leaning towards the sunSync. Ime already putting down cash and 7K is a fraction of the total cost. thoughts ?
