Good day all people more knowledgeable than me,

Hopefully you understand what I'm trying to convey as I am a complete layman.

I've installed a Sofar hybrid inverter with a Shoto battery (5 kw system).

I'm fine during the day with the panels but the battery discharges in the evening even when there is power from the grid. And doesn't charge using the grid. It only charges via the panels.

You can imagine this will become a problem in winter.

Would anybody have some advice for me regarding this, please?

Thank you kindly.

Hoeveel sonpanele het jy en wat is die totale krag wat hulle opwek in kilowatt?

Is jou elektriese stelsel enkel- of driefase?

Wie het jou sonpanele geïnstalleer, en het hulle 'n sertifikaat uitgereik om te bevestig dat alles veilig en reg geïnstalleer is?

Het jy die Sofar-papierwerk en handleiding vir jou sonkragtoerusting?

What poster is trying to say is, the preffered is Solar, then battery and then grid.

He needs it to be Solar, then grid, then battery.

I for now still waiting to install solar, set mine as Solar first, battery to mains at 51v, mains to battery when battery is 58v. This way as I understand it would be solar during the day and then cut over to battery. The moment voltage drops to below 51v, it will cut over to grid and charge the batteries. The batteries will never reach 58v so it will remain on grid, until either the sun comes up or the grid goes down.

On my preferred it also says, solar first and back to mains if ONE of the following occurs:

1. Solar unavailable

2. Battery below cut over voltage

So it should cut over automatically to grid, but above voltage settings done just in case it doesnt, will need to check first.
