Posted January 22, 20187 yr I'm looking for suppliers that have these or similar type brackets in stock. It sounds like there is some sort of shortage at the moment when speaking to the one or two places I have phoned. The codes are LS400540 and LS340284 and as I understand they are the lizard solar mounting products. For those with more experience, if you can recommend a supplier in Gauteng that sells these and have stock or know of an alternative product that works similarly I'd appreciate your input. Panels been sitting here and just gathering dust.
January 22, 20187 yr Author Found these while searching online. https://www.acdc.co.za/collections/solar-wind-generators-street-lighting-solar-kits/sol?page=38 I'm not an installer so I've got no clue, do these products generally work together, we already have the railing and all the other fittings that was removed from the old install site, just not sure if you have to buy one brand and if there is a standard and different brands can be used together?
January 22, 20187 yr WOW, what the price!! Last time I bought from Rubicon the price was under R100 each. You can combine those hooks with common bars used to mount the PVs.
January 22, 20187 yr Author @ibiza So it's a normal tiled roof. I take it one needs the T shaped one then? https://solar.rubiconsa.com/stainless-steel-mounting-bracket-for-tiled-roof-perpendicular-rub-trh-04.html?search=tile mount Looks like the other type is used for slate tiles if one reads the description.
January 22, 20187 yr Author Rubicon has stock. R100 ex VAT. https://solar.rubiconsa.com/index.php?route=product/search&search=3011

I remember looking for extruded rails for mounting panels, almost buying it at ACDC... then realising I'm an idiot because OnTrack is 10 minutes away. Needless to say, it was about a quarter of the price. 4 hours ago, GVC said: I made my own using 50 x 5mm flat bar. Very neat! My only concerns would be 1) rust, at least where I live, and 2) rust, because of galvanic corrosion between that and the aluminium rail, and 3) mild steel is more bendy than the hardened stuff. Then again, it's frigin 5mm flat bar... so forget about 3 ;-) Edit: On the previous topic of looking for stuff in the wrong places: Once I needed a fuse for my car. Weird kind of fuse, very small, copper blades sort of on the outside edges. Searched high and low... eventually realised I'm an idiot, drove to the Toyota dealership and bought it there. Sure, the stealership is generally considered more expensive... but it's a fuse. Even at R20/fuse it's cheaper than driving around looking for a cheaper one! :-)
