Greetings

I have an existing 8kw Sunsynk inverter with 1 x Shoto 4.8 kwh (SDA10-48100L5) battery. If i want to add another battery, does it have to be the exact same brand and capacity - or can i for example add the newer 5.1kw Shoto battery in parallel to the old one? Finding stock of my older version battery is an issue.

Or do i buy 2 new batteries and try to sell the old one?

I will get a professional to do this for me, just wanting to know what i should be shopping for.

Thanks

Please read the forum. There are a couple of threads  that address exactly this issue.

Hi @boatmaker

There are a number of battery manufacturers with whom you can connect different capacity batteries and maintain communication with your invertyer i.e. Pylontec, BMS Batt etc.

I am not sure if Shoto are one of them, to maintain communications between the Inverter and your batteries, the BMS's in the batteries will need to be compatible.

I suggest that you speak to the Shoto distributors and find out if they are compatible and how to set them up.
