Aveer Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 Hi How do you calculate the time to recharge your lithium batteries from solar or generator. For example if I have a 5kw inverter, 5kwh battery and 2.5kw of panels, is it just 2 hours? Or are there other factors to consider. Similarly if I have a 2.5 kwh generator. Thanks Quote
mzezman Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 (edited) Depends on the charge amps you have set on the inverter. More amps, less time to charge. The amps are impacted by amount of PV available when charging from panels. For you the Max PV charge is likely to be about 2300w (48amps) as there will be some baseload. So approx 2.x hours Edited March 30, 2023 by mzezman Aveer and zsde 2 Quote
HendrikBigChief Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 You might also want to charge at half or a quarter of the max charge rate to make your battery last longer. mzezman 1 Quote
