Do I require fuses between panels and the inverter, or is a DC breaker good enough?

I have a DC breaker rated at 20A and 500V. Is it sufficient or do I need to add fuses? There is also a DC surge protector. The panels Voc is 300V and nominal current is just over 13 amps.
