Mecer 5KW Pure Sine Wave Inverter With 2400W PWM Controller

Hi, Please help. I bought this above inverter. the issue i am having is that the Voltage from the solar panel when measured with a multi meter is 90v but on the inverter PV voltage is only shows 51v.

could there be a problem with the PWM controller?

Why am i not getting the full voltage?

The amps have also been measured with a DC amp Meter and that seems fine.

so because i am not getting the full voltage the watts i am getting from my solar panels is very less.

voltage x amps = watts

51 x 20amp ( depending on sun) = 1020watts

90 x 20amp ( depending on sun)  = 1800 watts is what i should be getting.

I will really apricate your help.

I'm afraid that's just how PWM charge controllers work. See the link below for more info.

Key paragraph is:

PWM controllers can only utilize the voltage that matches your battery bank. For example, most PWM controllers are integrated with a 12V battery system. If your solar array is providing 18V, then that extra 6V of power will be wasted.
