Posted April 8, 20232 yr Greeting folks... I got an InfiniSolar V 4 (5.6KW) that trips into a code 32 warning screen (LCD shows only this error). I still have power but nothing seems to work via LCD (keeps flashing 32 with a triangle and an exclamation inside). Checked the user manual the error (warning, actually) is due to a communication board error - whatever that means. Inverter works fine after a complete reset (all terminals PV / Batt / AC off). But then again it trips into this mode. Some people suggested I upgrade its firmware. I contacted voltronic sales but they did not reply. Any suggestions that might help?

But then again it trips into this mode. It's probably the issue that plagues this model: noise from the PV getting into other parts of the circuit. Sometimes it's the display, sometimes it's communications. The solution seems to be a capacitor across the PV terminals, and/or extra metal .shielding. Newer models are modified to fix this. I believe that you can get this fixed under warranty, but of course that means a long delay and inconvenience if there was to be a load shedding. If you're good with electronics you might be able to do it yourself, but this is a moderately dangerous procedure if you don't do it correctly. I also contacted the dealer and as you said they instructed me to return the unit for inspection and repair which leaves me without power for a couple of days! I know a bit of electronics myself and installed my system on my own (had a bit of help though) so I will the document and see if this helps. Again thank you very much! April 30, 20231 yr Author @Coulomb Just as an update my problem was resolved by the dealer (they are proficient it seems) they did 2 things: Updated both firmwares for main and secondary CPUs They changed a country setting from "Germany" to "India" Now the inverter has been on - stable - for more than a week! My only problem now is the reading it using the USB port which is not stable, it crashes every now and then. I have to use the inverter's ESC button for 3 seconds which resets the USB controller and my PC can then resume reading.
October 16, 2024Oct 16 Good Day Coulomb I trust this message finds you well, I have this same machine which was given to me blown to bits and essentially scraped, however as I am involved in the Electronics field I thought it would be a challenge to see if I could possibly get it running again, It now has the same error 32 code as the above post but in my case this unit was very badly damaged internally, it was sent to a repair shop however I believe they may have inadvertently done a lot more damage to the unit by connecting the incorrect connectors to the display remote pcb as well creating further damage to the unit. After much repair work on the main pcb I have now managed to get the unit to start with the dc input, however as mentioned the remote pcb main processor that controls the display was shorted therefor no display at all. After finding a replacement remote Kodak pcb on line and fitting it in the Inverter the display now functions on switch on however with the above 32 error code after a few seconds. The Inverter does give out the 240 volt ac output in this state but remains with this same error. Oddly the 240 volts ac is also dropping out of the input side of the inverter so I am assuming it could be set to feeding back to the grid not quite sure at this point as I can not access any functions on the display. So I am assuming this may have something to do with the software on the remote pcb not talking to the software on the control board as it is incompatible with the new remote board. My question is do you perhaps Know if this could be the issue and if so where could I find the software to update this unit.? ( Infinisolar V IV 5.6 KW Inverter) After many many hours of work on this machine I have now got it to this point and would very much like to get it working again. Also I did notice there is a modification with the Capacitor on the PV Input side which has been done on this unit Any help would be much appreciated Regards Anthony
