Posted April 12, 20231 yr The generator and batteries work well during loadshedding, BUT, when the Eskom electricity is restored, the electricity comes through for a few seconds and then it goes off again. The people testing said the generator kicks the electricity off in the green box down the street. So we report and the switch is turned back on, but after a few seconds (maybe a minute or 30 seconds) the generator kicks off and cuts of the flow from Eskom again, We are really suffering. Please assist, what could be the issue and how can we fix it and by whom? We had several electricians, and the people from the generator said they cannot help.

Hi @Erna Oliver it is unusual for the generator to interfere with the incoming grid, assuming that you have a manual changeover switch arrangement, and preferably one that switches both the LIVE and NEUTRAL. So the first question I have is how exactly is your genetator integrated onto your Mains DB box? EDIT : or is your generator connected to an inverter? Because you mention batteries.
