Deye 8Kva Inverter Installation with 4 Shoto 4.8Kwh batteries

Good Evening All

I really need some help on this one. I know absolutely nothing about Inverters and solar setups but will try and make this as short as possible. I had my complete solar system removed in Jhb and installed in Mossel Bay. The system comprises of an 8Kva Deye inverter, 4 x Shoto 48V - 4.8Kwh Lithium Ion Batteries and 32 x 330W Solar Panels. When the system was removed in Jhb all was working like a dream. The furniture removal company unfortunately dropped one of the batteries from the trolley onto the floor when carting it into the new house in Mossel Bay. A week later I managed to find an installer whom I informed about the battery which fell from the trolley. Asked me whether it fell from the truck and I replied no, from the trolly which is very low. He then proceeded with the installation as he mentioned that the battery should be ok. Once the install was completed and checked, he then switched the system on. The inverter lights started up and as I started explaining what the icons stood for it blew. It was barely 30 seconds when we heard a bang and that was the inverter gone. Tested the batteries and two of the batteries is showing 0V and 2 of them is showing 39.6 volt.  Is there any hope for this system to be repaired? Are there any Inverter and battery repair shops in or close to Mossel Bay?

BTW - The installer I used was not certified so my insurance company rejected my claim on Friday. (My fault for picking this guy)

Thanks in advance for the assistance,

Much appreciated,

Below how the batteries were connected in Jhb, and working with no issue.

What a pity between myself & @BritishRacingGreenhe can fix inverters & I can fix the batteries. But we are JNB based...

Maybe @HiltonQ could crate or PX the equipment and ship it to you in JHB. Unfortunately no other choice as warranty is toast.

Shame man, I can imagine the terrible sinking feeling having this happen.😢

I have seen & witnessed a Pylontech throw it's toys out the cot like this & the sound was very disturbing. That battery bank worth R125k was toast. BMSs could not be repaired. Its not nice to witness or even read about. I'm sorry for your misfortune here. Not all is lost we can help, tell you what you have zero to loose.

I can also say that the Deye & Sunsynk has some very good built in protection for Surge as well as incorrect polarity etc. There is probably not much to fix there. The battery side my imagination runs wild. But I can say that the cells are probably in a still a good shape. The BMSs might be fried. These can be replaced with JBDs & these can communicate with the Deye so not all is lost. It's just tricky logistically & it's a pain.
