UPGRADED FROM AGM BATTERIES TO LIFEPO4 BATTERIES

Recommended Posts

Good evening all.

I have build my own Solar system about 8 years ago (4 X North Star AGM Batteries 170a/h, PWM 60a CC, and 4 x 330W Canadian PV, 2400w Genie Pure Sine Inverter (Transformer Type). Load (2 x Fridges, 1 Deep Freeze, Washing Machine, and 2 x PC and WIFi. No Problems and the batteries still tested 80% of capacity.

In the meantime, I have bought 1 x 24v LiFePo4 100ah and 1 x 12v LiFepo4 12 100ah Hoselect batteries.

Currently charging the 24v with the 4 x 330w PV (Seeking for 2 x 665w or 675W Bifacial PV panels), 60A GD Plus CC (Setting LB 12), and the 12v with 3 x 150w PV, 60A GD Plus CC (Setting LB 11) (Busy building a suitcase for Caravan Camping).

Kindly advise on the following:

After a 2-day charge, the 24v indicates 26.7 V on the screen. Is this ok for the battery?

The 12v battery indicates 13.4v, 100% charge but only 90ah on the LCD screen but it is a 100a battery, can somebody tell me why this is? Is there something wrong with the battery? or does it needs to charge more? I have also charged it 1 x day with the 4 x 330w PV with the same result. See attached photo of LCD screen.

Questions:

Does any member on the site have the same batteries? Your experience with them?

Please advise on the correct settings for the MPPT Controller's 60 amp for the 12v and the 24v batteries.

Does anyone maybe have data sheets for the batteries?

Any additional recommendations to sure that these batteries deliveres and last for a long time? I a new to LiFepo4 batteries.

Can anyone direct me to suppliers of Canadian Solar Panels where I can buy 665w or 675W PV Bifacial Panels?

If not Canadian Solar any other suppliers that supply Tier 1 Panels in the range of 500w to 675w PV Panels?

I looking forward to everyone's take on my current situation and please advise accordingly.

Thank you and regards

Riaan
