At R55k for a 10kw they seem to be to good to be true From the spec sheet is is 140Ah but they say 10kw... This does not add up?? Anyone using them? Any good or better off with 2x AM2's? Thanks in advanced
Energy-Jason
I believe they are 1.5C batterys. They call it 10kWp units. The blade is a 7kWh battery. This also confused me. Sincerely Jason

If it is too good to be true, it usually is 10kW on the spec sheet is the discharge rate. Not capacity! Capacity is measured in kWh and not kW, So, they advertise the discharge rate of 10kW. The capacity is 140Ah x 51.2V = 7.168kWh

Their marketing has always been sneaky / on the boarder of dishonest but this just pushes it to the next level in my mind While discharge rate is important and needs to be taking into account, I can assure you that most people will at first glance of the PDF think it is a 10kWh battery and then only realise afterwards. Dont get me wrong, I am still going to purchase AM2s and I still like their products (and have a number already) but I think they are a little too sneaky on their marketing with this one zsde

At R55k for a 10kw they seem to be to good to be true At 55k for 10kW, it certainly would not be the case. You can easily buy 5kW for R25k these days if not less for great quality batts, some even as low as R23k. Case in point, you can get a 51.2V 100ah for R25k give or take. Two of these would make for R50k for 10.2kWh, so above at R55k is actually expensive compared, 10% more. So yeah, apart for the obvious flaws in their advertising, the price point is okay. The 5kW batteries you're referring to, would those be 0.5C batteries? Or 1C batteries? With 50A discharge per battery, or 100A discharge? Just to be sureone's comparing apples with apples, I'm looking at Hubble's own 5kWh AM5 for around R35K each, and AM2 for around R30K each. Both 1C batteries with 200A or around 10kW output. The AM5 and AM2 above both would cost more together than the single 7kWh battery, and with more cabling, installation, etc. I think it's clear, two 5kWh batteries with 10kWh storage if it costs R50K would have higher capacity than this 7kWh battery, even for less money. However, it would have to be able to match the 200A discharge rate for the comparison to be fair. Edited June 9, 2023 by GreenFields

Or a 10kW single batt at 2C, 100A. So true 10kw capacity at the same discharge than this 7kw batt for 10% less money and 3kw more capacity.
