Axpert king issue. Off grid. When high usage it cuts solar input.

Good day people.

Hope you can assist me.

Axpert king 5kw inverter.

6x old 285w panels

2 x new 480w panels

2 x 50ah lifepo4 batteries.

As of recent. As soon as i use my water pump, it seems solar disconnects.

I have no idea where to start, or what to do. I am a complete dumb ass with this.

System is 3 years old accept the new panels.

Does the solar charging stay off, or start again after a minute or so? Without patched firmware, a large load like a water pump can trigger a switch from float to bulk charging, which needlessly but always involves turning the solar charger off for 30 seconds, then ramping up for another 30 seconds.

The other possibility is that when your lithium battery is full, it tells the inverter to cut back to 10 A of battery charging, which with certain firmware bugs is taken as only generate 10 A of solar production (ignoring the load). I'm chasing what may be a bug in the display firmware that turns off solar balance, which would trigger this behaviour. But more research and experimentation is required.

Thx for feedback.

It does not turn back on. I have to reset the inverter to get it back on charge.

Now if you can assist me with how do i get into the firmware? Inverter not connected to pc.

Where will i find the software? Assume once i have that i will be able to update the firmware?

Start searching i suppose.

I found your patch. I did notice you say if wrong machine it can render it useless.

I am such a dummy with this kand off thing, now i am scared to try it. Attached is a screen shot of my watch power.

Please tell me if i can use the patch?

Then please explain to me how i go about doing it if i can.

Thank you in advance.

Yes, your machine would benefit from updating to patched firmware version 71.97a, or even factory firmware version 72.00. Kings don't seem to have the problem of different DSP chips; they need an extra PWM output so they never come with a '2809 chip, always a '28066 chip.

It's all in this post.

It just stops charging,

71.80 is fairly old firmware, and old King firmware did have issues with SCC dips and freezes like you describe.
