Are Revov batteries (c8 - 1st life) reliable for an off-grid system?

Anyone with feedback on their experiences using the REVOV batteries especially the C8 (1st life). I am considering installing these batteries for my off-grid system. How are these batteries performance wise? Just to add that the system is for domestic use.

I've used Revovs, but not the C8s.

These were the original batteries for my system. I didn't stipulate them, at the time I didn't have any idea of what brands were available, the pros and cons etc.

The system was never really stable. At one time I had repeated issues with the batteries just shutting down for no apparent reason - even when a good state of charge was being reported. There was a further issue with BMS and inverter not being on the same page regarding SOC. 3 years in the batteries (2nd life cells) showed signs of a severe degradation in performance. At one point Revov were saying that the problem was that my inverter was not a Victron, but in the next breath they told me that there were other sites with the same inverter (Goodwe) and batteries and where the user was happy. So I said fine, let's get their settings and reproduce them here. But that never happened.

At one point, in response to the problem where the batteries would shut down, a comms cable was introduced. Then when the degradation (or apparent degradation) reared it's head the comms cable was removed because it's not the standard way of doing things.  This appeared to solve the performance degradation issue - which was odd because the SOC that the inverter reported was only what is was getting from the BMS. And with that comms cable gone, the batteries started shutting down again.

Long story short: The installer did a part exchange on the Revovs and replaced them with Freedom Won LiTE.

Chalk and cheese: The system is now unfailingly reliable. I went from wondering if this constant rebooting things was just the way that solar life was, to sailing through Stage 6 load shedding with nary a hiccup.
