Steve87
So a very interesting project on this site. Spent all but an hour consulting on this project with a client & to my horror after discussing a starting point of 5kW Sunsynk machine etc only to be shown a DB with 3 phase supply which makes for some interesting budget conversations etc. So we got to the conclusion of the best of both worlds & settled at the 8kW Sunsynk, with a 5kWh E-Tower & a 5.5kW Canadian Solar PV Array. The battery is below specification for this 8kW machine but another E-Tower will follow in time which I thought was a wise decision. So effectively we will have a Single phase backup & other 2 phases that will be shed when Eskom decides so. Basically 1 essential phase & Non essentials phase, the other 2 stay on eskom. Why is this installation quite clever in a good way? because the inverter will not trip when the Eskom Grid is there because the inverter can pass through. When it loadsheds they are limited by 5kW of the battery. But this 8kW potential is unlocked when more storage & power arrives in Phase 2. Will post picks of the finish product tomorrow. Steve87
Must say this is the cleanest, neatest DB I have seen anywhere. These guys have taken good pride in their work. Im under pressure to replicate... Jacques Ester

Steve87
Massive 3 phase split & a Sunsynk 8kW Failure later we have this installation all but done. Some battery sprague only the missing piece of the puzzle come CoC inspection on Monday. Jacques Ester

Jakac
Freedom Won a very good battery. Absolute no issue. Recently bought one. Steve87
Diabolix
Any idea on the model number of the DB board?
Steve87
Sorry I haven't a clue all I know is that its a 45 way or 15 x 3. I have also bought them in the past & as far as I know MCE is the brand. Compliance certificate all wrapped up & we clear out. Jacques Ester
P1000
It looks a lot like SBU, which you can get from voltex. https://britelighting.co.za/products/su3-samite-surface-db-board-3x15w I think there is a 3x16 DIN version as well.
Bobster.
Why the change from LiTE to E-Tower? And can LiTE and E-Tower be run in parallel? Edited July 4, 2023 by Bobster.
Bobster.
Interesting how you mounted the battery, which seems to go against the concept of building a tower with bus bars between the individual batteries. Clearly Freedom Won give that option - you wouldn't just drill holes in the casing of a brand new battery.

This is the only mention of LiTE in this thread, what makes you think it's a change? No, they have incompatible BMSs, so they cannot be run in parallel. Steve87
I can only speculate that the Lite 5/4 Battery is a goner. Mainly because the E-Tower seems to have now become the FW popular affordable building block budget battery. This particular installation started off with the owners not even aware of the 3 phase Mains supply. So they based their planning & budget on the 5kW Sunsynk & a 5kWh battery. So after our initial meeting & site visit when I came across the 3 phase supply this was then communicated and made for a budget that was stretched to the limits. My suggestion was a 8kW Sunsynk for obvious reasons of a good amount of passthrough Current when no loadshedding. Then also a 8kW inverter backup supply when loadshedding. However, the budget could only stretch so far. So the compromise was the battery & then adding another E-Tower when able. So this is the best of both worlds. In the long run they will never regret the larger inverter. Batteries when come when they can to unlock the 8kW backup loads.
