I just had my Paloma’s heat exchanger replaced as it was starting leaking. It built up steam and popped a seam somewhere due to restrictions building up. Fortunately the electronics weren’t affected by the leak as I picked it up early.

This is a real problem with borehole water. I know I have a slight iron problem and I have already bought the stuff for cleaning it (based on recommendations here).

Took it to an agent and it was fixed in a few hours - good service and no bull$hit from them.

Same cannot be said of the installer who never bothered to show up after phoning him. Hmmm..

Apparently one needs to flush it six monthly (plenty examples on YouTube) to prevent it from clogging.

This applies to all gas geysers.
