If an inverter is "compliant" with types Lead-acid or Li-Ion is it OK for Gel?

Lead acid is a very wide blanket. An inverter could claim to be compatible with lead acids, and fail to charge traction/tubular batteries (technically lead-acid too) that have a very high charge voltage. In general though, gel batteries have lower absorption voltages than flooded batteries, so in most cases I would assume it should be fine.
